Make Your Coffee Count
The Nest Community Coffee House, located in Uptown Port Townsend, opened its doors January 2022 in response to young people advocating for a youth centered space in their community. This hub of resource and connection directs 100% of its proceeds to programming for youth and young adults.
In addition to organic, locally roasted fair trade coffee, The Nest also provides on staff Peer Allies and a Resource Navigator for young people to get connected to resources and support.
Through events, clubs, community connections, and leadership opportunities, young people have a place to gain real-world-readiness skills and rediscover a sense of belonging.
Consider volunteering to support the mission of this youth-driven program. Donations of goods also support the coffeehouse. Contact us to learn more.

PEER ALLIES
Our peer allies and outreach team are responsible for connecting with youth and young adults in Jefferson County and supporting their self empowerment while advocating for the basic rights. This can look like support to develop skills that lead to sustainable independence. Our approach is guided by a foundation of compassion and hope. Our peer allies (and staff) have training in deep listening, mental health first aid, and resource navigation, among other skills.
Peer allies work directly with youth and young adults to provide support and assistance. Support may include, but is not limited to, education, employment, housing, medical care, mental health, basic needs, supportive services and beyond. Sometimes, it's as simple as being a listening ear and supporting a next step.
Peer allies are guided by the voice of the person being supported – walking alongside them as they define their journey.
