WHAT IS YYAAC & HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?

The Youth and Young Adult Advisory Council (lovingly referred to as "YYAAC")
is a leadership opportunity at OWL360 for people ages 14-24 who live in Jefferson County and want to make their community a better place for young people.

YYAAC does a variety of things which include:

  • Organizing and hosting events at The Nest!
  • Participating in trainings like CPR, Mental Health 1st Aid, and others.
  • Strengthening skillsets like public speaking and group decision making.
  • Strategizing ways to affect change and advocate for young people.
  • And more...!

At OWL360 we recognize that young people are the experts on matters that directly affect them. YYAAC is supported to be empowered with the tools to assess best strategies for self advocacy.  We also recognize the value of young people's time and energy therefore each YYAAC member receives a financial stipend and meal at monthly meetings.

If you are interested in participating in YYAAC, or learning more please
